iPad Art: make a Valentine with your tablet and Photoshop

iPad Art: make a Valentine using your tablet with PhotoshopStuck for a Valentine? Here’s a great idea for a last-minute gift for your special someone: why not make romantic heart for Valentine’s Day using your iPad in conjunction with Photoshop.

The image above was finger painted on an iPad using the Touch app Adobe Eazel . The Adobe Eazel app lets you be a kid again, painting a picture directly onto your iPad. You can then wirelessly transmit your picture to Photoshop CS5 where you can make modest tweaks to tones and colours using a Curves Adjustment Layer. For a painting app, Eazel is limited, but this is actually part of it’s charm. The limited set of controls is restricted to brush size, opacity and colour, and there’s only one undo step, so you have to think more creatively.

That said the application of the paint is fast and responsive and there’s a wonderful watery flow that takes a few attempts to get to grips with, but once mastered it is utterly addictive.

You can find more details on the Adobe Eazel app on the Photoshop website.
